Our Co-Founding Team

Morgan Alcalay committed to launch Just In Case Estates following his parents’ experience creating their last will.

After his dad spent several weeks searching for a competent estate planning attorney, a couple hours later, he got the bill – more than $1,000 to complete the basic last will package.

“My dad is a pretty organized guy, and so I was at first surprised that he hadn’t done this already. As soon as he started describing the process, I understood why. The inconvenience finding a trustworthy attorney, the huge cost, my dad calling to explain my role in a legalese ridden document I’ve still never seen – all to shove this thousand dollar plus piece of paper in a dusty drawer."

Prior to co-founding Just In Case Estates, Morgan served as an Information Warfare Officer with the US Navy. Following the Navy, he began his finance career on the trading teams at Barclays and Goldman Sachs, and was a Portfolio Manager at Brevan Howard and Two Sigma.

Morgan, his wife Rebecca, and their two children created their Revocable Living Trust with Just In Case Estates.

Luke Skarzynski struck out to build Just In Case Estates following his grandfather's passing.

"Gramps did everything right. He built a loving family, terrific career, and when it came time to create his estate plan, he engaged an estate planning attorney and financial advisor." Despite following the traditional playbook, when Gramps passed away, things were a bit of a mess. "I watched as my mom, aunts, and uncles were thrust into the chaos that is estate administration at the very time they were still trying to grieve for and treasure their memories with Gramps." If this was what 'following the playbook' looked like, it was time to throw that playbook out the door.

Prior to founding Just In Case Estates, Luke served as a growth equity investor and operator at L Catterton, the world's largest consumer-focused private equity firm.

Luke, his wife Morgan, and their two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Bauer and Blitzen, created their Last Will and Pet Estate Plan with Just In Case Estates.
